Sun Harvesters take action by installing solar panels on their homes. Seeds for the Sol helps them by offering zero-interest loans. Sun Harvesters pay back the loans in a Pay-As-You-Say model (PAYS). Income-qualified harvesters get extra incentives from Energy Trust of Oregon and Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE), the 26% federal tax credit. The incentive make solar energy affordable for all income levels.
Businesses Get Greener use the Investment Tax Credit. In the first year the businesses claim 100% return on the investment including depreciation.
Sun Buddies take action by sharing their savings. They provide zero-interest loans to help other homeowners in the community put solar on their roofs. Sun Buddies’ loans are repaid in installments over 4-5 years.
Sun Supporters take action by donating to Seeds for the Sol. And through their donations they support our mission to educate, build community, and reduce the community’s carbon footprint. We reinvest the donations and they fund solar energy again and again.
